What is the Asphalt Rank?

The Asphalt Rank is a “grade” we assign for a career of a marathon runner. It is based on the results and the age of the runner at the time of the marathon. The best possible result is 100. Only world record holders can have this rank. See for example Kelvin Kiptum and Ruth Chepngetich. To compute this rank, we take the age and gender of the runner from the user settings page. If these values are not correct, the rank might be wrong.
